It is Ash Ketchum and he has his friends along with him who keep changing and his favourite pokemon pikachu.HE got pikachu when he got to professor Oak's lab late and all the starters pokemon were taken by some trainers and pikachu was left but professor Oak said"There is a problem with this pokemon."But Ash had no choice so he took pikachu and started with his adventure.
